Do I need to install an app?
ClaryBook is best on the mobile app, free on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android, and that's where the camera, Face ID sign-in, and push notifications live. If you'd rather not install anything, you can use ClaryBook in any browser at app.clarybook.com. They all stay in sync.
What happens after the free trial?
After 30 days, ClaryBook is $30/month. No contracts, cancel anytime. Your data is always yours, you can export everything as CSV or PDF at any time, even if you cancel.
Is my financial data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Your business data is logically isolated from other users at every layer. We don't sell, share, or analyze your financial data for any purpose other than providing the service. Bank connections are powered by Plaid, you sign in on your bank's own page via Plaid, so your bank login is never seen or stored by ClaryBook, and you can disconnect a bank at any time. Can my CPA access my books?
Two ways. (1) Export PDF reports (Schedule C and Schedule E worksheets, P&L, mileage log) or CSV data and email them directly to your CPA. (2) Invite your CPA as a team member with read-only `viewer` access, they get the full dashboard, every export, every receipt, and the audit trail. You stay the owner and can remove them any time.
What types of businesses does ClaryBook support?
ClaryBook is built for sole proprietors, freelancers, consultants, rental property owners, and small business owners. It supports US (IRS Schedule E, 1099) and Dutch (BTW, KvK) tax systems. If you have receipts and need organized books, ClaryBook handles it.
How does receipt scanning work?
Snap a photo or share a PDF from your email, works in the iPhone app, the Android app, or the web portal. Clary fills in the vendor, amount, date, and category for you. If you have active projects or properties, Clary asks which one it belongs to. You can correct anything with a quick reply. The original image or PDF is stored permanently as documentation.
